Ep. 21- How am I Going to Do All of This?

Welcome Fellow Preppers!! Thank you for joining me for Episode 21 of Passionate About Prepping!

Joey and I have been considering some new projects, and they are daunting, I and got to thinking how easy it would be to just give up because it’s such a big project to tackle. Kinda like prepping. So, I thought we could discuss that this week. Let’s talk about how to eat this elephant.

Happy Prepping & Happy Planning!

Ep. 20- Replay of Episode 3

Welcome Fellow Preppers. I have apologies to make once again. Due to being sick, I was not able to record a new show for you this week.  Please enjoy a refresher on what you should store for long term food preps, how to store it, and how to make it last as long as possible.

I’ll have a new show for you this weekend as usual. In the mean time…

Ep. 19- Talking with Bob Mayne about Budgeting for Preppers

Welcome Fellow Preppers!! Thank you for joining me for Episode 19 of Passionate About Prepping.

This week we have yet another special guest. Bob Mayne and I had a lovely conversation on the beginners basics for budgeting for preppers.

You can catch Bob on his two podcasts, Handgun World Podcast and Today’s Survival Show, as well. Bob and I are both proud members of the Self Defense Radio Network. You should head over there and give a listen to some of the other fantastic shows available!

Bob was also kind enough to provide the link to Tim Gable’s Blog. I’ll definitely be checking it out!

Also, for those that want to learn what Dave Ramsey’s principles are, here a link to the Total Money Makeover for sale on his website. (Again, I don’t get a penny for recommending it. I truly believe in his products.)

Happy Prepping!

Ep. 18- A Conversation with Trevor Furlotte on Archery

Welcome Fellow Preppers!!! Thank you for joining me for Episode 18 of Passionate About Prepping!

This week, I have a special guest! Trevor Furlotte, best known as a host on Slam Fire Radio, the VP of Restigouche Gun Club, his work with the Canadian Coalition for Firearms Rights (CCFR) and competing in International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) competitions. Trevor was kind enough to join me this week to talk about his other favorite hobby, Archery, and he’s here to answer some questions for beginners, pro’s and con’s of the types of bows available, and tips on how to get started.

As with any weapon, please get training on proper use and handling before you begin training. You can not only hurt someone, but also yourself, in numerous ways.

As is becoming the new normal, look for the follow up blog post for more information, tips, tricks and links in a few days!

Happy Prepping!!

Trevor Furlotte’s Bio on SlamFireRadio.com

Trevor has been surrounded by firearms his whole life. Growing up in a gun friendly home, he learned to shoot and hunt from his father at a very early age. His university years cause some down time in his firearms activities, but once settled after school, Trevor updated his PAL to included both non-restricted and restricted acquisitions.

Although he intended to start shooting IPSC back in 2004, he was side tracked by archery until January of 2011 when he bought his first handgun. Since that time, Trevor has become an active member of two local gun clubs and has been shooting IPSC matches all over NB since the summer of 2011.

Ep. 17- The Various Uses of a Home Vacuum Sealer

Welcome Fellow Preppers!! Thank you for joining us for Episode 17 of Passionate About Prepping!

Joey has returned this week to help me sing the praises of the FoodSaver® brand home vacuum sealer and all of it’s various uses.

Look for the follow up blog post later this week.

Happy Prepping!

Ep. 16- Where Am I Going to Put All of This Stuff?

Welcome Fellow Preppers!! Thank you for joining me for Episode 16 of Passionate About Prepping! I’m flying solo today. Joey opted out since our topic is a bit out of his area of expertise.

I had a conversation with a Facebook friend earlier in the week and she mentioned having trouble finding places to put all of her preps. I dung through my memory banks and did some research, and have a list of ideas on creative ways to store your preps!

I found the link for the 5 gallon bucket washing machine for those that are interested. It’s by FoodStorageMoms.com.

And here’s the link for the Five Gallon Pack I mentioned.

Please share your creative storage idea with us below!! Have a great week!

Happy Prepping!!!

Ep. 15- Let’s Think Spring

Welcome Fellow Preppers!! Thank you for joining us for Episode 15 of Passionate about Prepping!

Even though we are in the throws of Winter, it’s not too soon to start thinking about Spring and our gardens. Garden planning is a great way to beat the winter blues and cabin fever. So grab your note pad and start taking notes!!

Resources for this weeks show:

The Old Farmer’s Almanac is a great resource for garden planning. You can find information such as Long Range Weather Forecasts, Moon Phases (which affect hunting, fishing and your garden output) and they also have a downloadable Garden Planner.

Mother Earth News is also another great resource, but it’s geared toward the more experienced gardener.

Here’s a great blog on winter composting.

If you want to get creative because of space issues or poor soil quality, try Strawbale Gardening or Container Gardening (lots of great articles here). Another method that can be applied to either of these is Square Foot Gardening. This method is usually done in the ground, but the ideas can be applied to container and strawbale gardens too. The idea is to plant different fruits, veggies and herbs together to make them happier and thrive in a smaller area.

I hope this gave you some good ideas on planning your Spring garden. Please share any good tips you find in the comment section below!

In the mean time, Happy Prepping!
